Burberry Inspired Cowl

Here is the finished scarf

Last spring, I found this free pattern on Pinterest for a cable infinity cowl scarf.  I really enjoy knitting, especially smaller projects so I pinned it and last week I decided to give it a try.  It turned out so well and I am looking forward to wearing it this winter!  It only took a couple days to make and I think it’s just the right size and width.

I ordered one skein of Cascade Yarns Venezia Worsted in White Heaven (3.5 oz) from Jimmy Beans Wool.  They have such a good selection of yarns, I have purchased from them more than once!  This yarn is 70% wool, but 30% silk, so really nice to work with

The pattern calls for Size 10 knitting needles.  I used circular needles just because I think they are easier to carry around and I usually take my knitting with me when we go to the lake.

I hadn’t done cables in a while, but it was pretty easy.  Just knit to where the cable starts, take 8 stitches off onto a separate needle, then knit 8 stitches, then knit the stitches you put on the separate needle.  The pattern said whether to hold the reserved stitches to the front or back.  Other than that, and keeping track of the rows for the pattern, this was an easy pattern to knit.  Does anyone have a good method for keeping rows counted?  I just used a piece of paper and kept making a hash mark to count the rows, but it would be so nice to not have to stop after each row and pick up a pen and paper to record the count.

Here is the actual pattern:

Anyway, I really like the finished product (and I think Amy does too!).  I think I’ll make a couple more of these this Fall in different colors.  Does anyone have any other patterns to share?  I’d love to try some other patterns this Fall and Winter!

Thanks!

Sandy
